Procedure for Apostille of U.S. Driving License

Generally, when applicants intend to use their U.S. driver’s license in other Hague Convention countries or during immigration or visa applications, the relevant authorities may request the applicant to provide a Hague Apostille-certified U.S. driver’s license for use.

WHAT IS AN U.S. DRIVING LICENSE

The US Driver’s licenses are issued by states, territories, and the District of Columbia. The applicant usually needs to obtain a license from the DMA of them of residence.

PROCESS TO NOTARIZE AND APOSTILLE ON DRIVING LICENSE

Steps: The copy of U.S. driving license undergoes notarization by a U.S. notary public.
The notarized the driving licenses then submitted to the Secretary of State for apostille.

Processing time:The processing time is 2-3 business days, excluding shipping time.
